Custom Powdercoating Services

Here you can find more information on how to get custom powdercoating on your hilts!

'What is powdercoating?'

Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. Unlike conventional liquid paint, which is delivered via an evaporating solvent, powder coating is typically applied electrostatically and then cured under heat or with ultraviolet light. (from Wikipedia)

Basically, powdercoating is like normal paint but much more durable and offers a ton of customization options. I've been powdercoating sabers for at least 5 years now and I love it!
I've done some pretty awesome creations for my customers over the years and I always love the challenges each saber brings as well as the final result.

'How much does it cost?'

I charge a standard rate of $25 per color/per part. Our custom sabers are usually split up into several different parts that go together, so each one has to be powdercoated individually during the process.
This is a general flat rate and can change depending on other factors such as complexity and type of powder used, for example some colors require two different coats to achieve the desired look, and some parts are small/simple enough that they wouldn't be charged at all.

'What colors do you have?'

I buy all of my powder collection from Prismatic Powders. They have the best and widest selection of color options, literally thousands of choices.
I keep many colors on hand but I am not limited to what is kept here on the shelf.
For any custom job, we can use any color available at Prismatic Powders, as long as the customer agrees to pay 50% of the new powder cost. I cover the rest, including shipping.

If you are interested in having some custom work done, please reach out to me personally at info@saberbay.com with your name and the saber in question to go over customization options. Also please note that sabers need to be completely empty from any electronics, as those will not be able to get work done due to the oven curing process.

I look forward to making something beautiful for you!
